s'Grèatlan Haus

Hoffe Village - historical center (No. 1-2)

Class Type A.2

Date: first half of 18th Century

Catalog 8.03

House built according to a classic four-room plan with a cross-sectional corridor. The second floor balcony, preserved across the façade, was subsequently removed from the Eastern and Western sides of the house. Only a small stretch survived on each side where the doors of the central corridor are. The custom, still current today, of piling up wood logs against the façade bears witness to the ancient tradition that coupled optimal storage conditions (on the sunniest side) for burning logs with their use as thermal insulation.
